A. CAN I JOIN THE PROGRAM IF I GO TO YU/STERN OR A NON-OU/JLIC CAMPUS?
Yes. This program is open to all observant college students.
B. I DON'T HAVE A FORMAL TORAH EDUCATION, CAN I JOIN THE GROUP?
Yes, this program is open to all college students - male and female.
C. DO YOU PROVIDE INTERNSHIPS?
Yes, we have partnered with Career Israel, a professional internship placement program that will work with you individually to find a great summer internship. See more information here. Alternatively, you can set up your own internship and participate in the program at a reduced cost.
D. CAn i find my own internship?
Yes, you can find your own internship and reduce the cost of the program to $300 (for appliactions received before Jan 15).
e. Do I HAVE TO BE religious to join the group?
Yes, participants must be shomer shabbat and shomer kashrut.
f. Is food provided?
In general, food will not be provided. Food will be provided on occasional shabbatot and during certain programs. There will be access to a communal kitchen.
g. Do I need health and travel insurance?
Health insurance is included in the cost of the program. Travel insurance is recommended but not necessary (not included). For those who choose to arrange their own internship, they must also purchase their own health insurance. Health insurance can be purchased through Harel at this link. We need proof of purchase for health insurance in order for you to participate in the program.
h. Do you provide a flight?
No, we do not provide a flight to or from Israel.
i. Do you provide transportation within Israel?
No, but many internships provide transportation for the interns. Please check with your internship provider.
j. How do I get to work?
The Old City is located near bus lines and the Jerusalem Light Rail. Taxis are also readily available.
k. CAN I MOVE IN EARLY OR STAY LATE?
Unfortunately you cannot move in early or stay late. These dorms are used year round and must be used immediately before and after our program.
l. What Happens on Shabbat?
There will be occasional Shabbat meals and activities as a group organized by us. Otherwise, participants are responsible for finding and/or preparing Shabbat meals for themselves.
